*** UPDATE: YES, KN95 masks are suitable for use during this Corona Virus (COVID-19) epidemic ***

We now offer KN95 Masks!

KN95 FACE MASKS ARE NEW TO OUR WAY OF THINKING IN AUSTRALIA . TIMES HAVE CHANGED.

Towards the end of 2019, we introduce 3M and KN95 masks due to the increases of bush fires and smoke, asthma causing dust storms, high pollen, Low immunity, pollution and chemical fires. Now, with the ever present Covid-19 and virus season fast approaching, we felt these masks are now an essential item for you and your family.

Wearing a face covering helps keep you and others safe and is now mandatory in VIC. COVID-19 is spread from close contact with a person with COVID-19. Face coverings help stop droplets spreading when someone speaks, laughs, coughs, or sneezes, including someone who has COVID-19 but feels well.

We Now offer these masks as an option to your families and school communities around Australia.

How to properly fit the Mask:

PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS PRIOR TO HANDLING YOUR MASK and AFTER REMOVING YOUR MASK.

  1. Place the respirator against your face with the nose-piece across the bridge of your nose. Hold the respirator on your face and position the respirator under the chin.

  2. Pull the top strap over the head resting it high at the top of our head.

  3. Pull the bottom strap over your head ,position it around the neck below the ear.

  4. Place the fingertips of both hands at the top of the metal nose-piece, pinch the nose-piece. Pinching the respirator nose-piece to mould on to the bridge of your nose.

  5. The seal of the respirator on the face should be checked before proceeding . Inhale sharply. If air leaks around the nose bridge, re-adjust the nose-piece as described in step 4.

  6. MASKS CAN BE REUSED IF USING FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME OVER A FEW DAYS. ENSURE THEY REMAIN DRY AND IN GOOD CONDITION. ONCE THEY BECOME DAMP DO NOT RE-USE.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO PRESS THE NOSE-PIECE FIRMLY TO THE BRIDGE OF THE NOSE TO FORM A GOOD SEAL.

Do not use for:

Gases and vapours, oil aerosols or sandblasting, particulate concentrations that exceed either 10 times the occupational exposure limiter applicable government regulations, whichever is lower. Do not use in atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen, as this does not supply oxygen.

Wearing a face was is not an iron clad guarantee that you won’t get sick – viruses can also transmit through the eyes and tiny viral particles, know as aerosols, can still penetrate masks.  However, masks are effective at capturing droplet, which is the main transmission rout of a virus, and some studies have estimated a roughly five-fold protection versus no barrier. If you are likely to be in close contact with someone infected, a mask cuts the change of the disease being passed on.  If you’re just walking around the town and not in close contact with others, wearing a mask is unlikely to make any difference.
